FAQs

  • How many sessions will I need?
This is always up to you and will differ with each individual. Some people prefer to have a short term contract of 6-10 weeks, others may prefer to have an open ended contract, where they don’t need to feel restricted in the number of sessions they can have.
  • Is it confidential?
All counselling is private and confidential, apart from exceptional circumstances where there is a risk of harm to you or another person. You will be given clear information about this, in our counselling agreement, at your first session.
  • How do I know if you are properly qualified?
I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) which is the UK’s largest professional body for counsellors and psychotherapists. Being BACP accredited means an individual has achieved a substantial level of training and experience and recognises my capacity for independent, ethical and competent practice.
  • When can I have an appointment?
Usually I can see you within a few days of calling.
  • How do I start?
If you are interested in exploring what it might be like to work with me as your counsellor, please do get in touch by messaging me here, calling or texting 07596 140463. I find it is usually really helpful to have a brief chat on the phone before we go ahead and make an appointment. Please do leave a message if I don’t take the call straight away, as I may be working. We can arrange a time to talk on the phone and then book an initial session to get to know each other and find out whether the support I offer would be useful to you.
  • How much does it cost?
Initial Assessment Session 60 minutes: £65 for day appointments, £70 for after 5.00pm Ongoing Individual sessions 50 minutes: £65 for day appointments, £70 for after 5.00pm Parent Consultations 50 minutes: £70 for day appointments, £75 for after 5.00pm
  • Where will the sessions take place?
I see clients in my private therapy practice in Stanmore, Middlesex, in a quiet residential road. There is free parking available. I can be reached by the 142 bus and there is a bus stop 5 mins walk away. I can also be reached by the Jubilee Line, at Stanmore Station. I also provide online sessions via Zoom.
  • If I miss a session will I have to pay?
Once you have committed to a regular time, that space will be for you exclusively. As such I will not book that time to see anybody else. The whole session time belongs to you, whether you choose to attend or not, and I will be present for the entire time of the session. If you arrive part way through your allotted time, I will see you for the remainder of the time but please expect the session to finish at the appointed time. Any missed sessions will need to paid for at the agreed rate and it will not be possible to make these sessions up.
